Product Description Stop fighting engine rumble, speaker rattle, road noise and buzzing vehicle parts! Apply Dynamat Xtreme to your vehicles resonant surfaces and enjoy improved clarity, loudness and bass response from your car stereo. High-performance Dynamat Xtreme is lighter than Dynamat Original, four times more effective, requires no heat to apply and is recommended for vehicle tops, sides and contoured areas. Dynamat Xtreme is coated with aluminum for high temperature areas such as firewalls and floors. Why does your car stereo sound louder when you pull off the freeway and come to a stop? Road noise steals much of the listenable portion of your music. At 70 mph, a typical automotive noise level of 85 dB leaves you with only 20 dB of listenable music. Applying Dynamat creates a "sonic barrier" restoring 3, 6, even 12 dB of lost dynamic range. Gaining just 3 dB doubles your effective amplifier power. And that means you hear more music. Kit contains four 12" x 36" (305mm x 914mm) pieces of Dynamat Xtreme and includes enough material for two standard size doors.

Decent price for modest quantity of material December 22, 2008 Be aware there is an enormous amount of hype out there regarding sound deading materials. Does this stuff work? Sort of. If you have an older low-end, rattley vehicle, it will certainly help. But if you have a newer high end car, not so much. I installed a lot of the Dynamat Xtreme and it's good stuff and easy to work with. It does help to kill buzzing and resonating from high power speaker installations. Will it make you go "Wow!!"? Uh, no. But you'll probably say, "Hey, that's a bit better". Amazon's price on this is usually pretty good, and free Super Saver shipping makes it even better.
Good things come from Hard Work December 10, 2008 A high quality product. I used this material for lining some surround speaker locations in my walls. It fixes well to sheetrock, wood studs and pretty much anything. The aluminum is easy to layout with a straight edge and pen. You'll get a workout applying the tar-liked backed heavy wall aluminum sheeting. It is worth the effort as there is no substitute - correct? Make sure you get a handled roller - even for small area applications. OSH has a small handle if you need one fast and have one locally.
This stuff is fantastic! October 24, 2008 Dynamat 10435 Xtreme Door Kit 4 Sheets I have some decent Pyle 6.5" component speakers in the doors of my 2006 Tacoma 2 door truck. For some reason the passenger door developed a buzz to it, even at low volume but especially when the DJ's would talk in their announcer voices. I applied the Dynamat Extreme to both doors this morning and the difference is huge! Not only is the buzz gone but all the over-resonance I would get at high volume and a lot of bass vanished also. I dont really notice much of a difference in road noise but the entire back of the cab is bare steel so you would probably have to cover the entire inside of the cab in the stuff to get rid of that. I do plan to cover the back wall at a later time. I highly recommend this product!
Works Great, but not wonders April 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased 2 dynamat xtreme door kits and 2 (12sq) dynaliner to do all doors in my 2006 maxima and the rear deck. So far, I completed three doors and there is plenty left for the last door and rear deck.
Results: There is a big difference...no rattles when I am listening to my music. Now you could hear tighter bass and clear highs. Of course, now the doors have that nice heavy feel to them, and close with a nice "thump".
The road noise did decrease, but not as much as I wanted. I guess if I used multiple layers and covered every inch of metal, it would probably make a bigger difference.
I was more concerned with rattles that ruined my music listening experience, and dynamat performed great in that department.
Overall: I highly recommend.
Worthless March 31, 2008 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
I started with the speaker packs. I saw very little result. Then dynamat said, well you really need to do the whole door, so I did. $400 later, I still have as much road noise as before and I covered my entire door frame on all 4 doors.
Don't buy in to the hype. I know it sounds good, but the people who got results are just idiots who believe everything the are told. "Miller lite is good beer, isn't it Johnny? See the pretty women on TV, you'll get them too if you drink Miller Lite." "Duh... Yes... lite beer is good.."
