Product Description Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner is unbeatable in cleaning the entire fuel system and restoring lost power and performance caused by deposit build-up. Cleans deposits from fuel injectors, carburetors, ports, valves and combustion chambers. Works in one tankful while you drive to reduce deposit related engine knock, ping, run-on, and cold start problems. Recommended for use every 3,000 miles. 20 oz. bottle. According to Motor Trend Magazine: If the loss of power and performance is due to combustion chamber deposits buildup the current state of the art treatment is an additive called polyether amine (PEA). Developed by Chevron and originally introduced in 1980, today it carries the company trade name TECHRON.

Proven to Work Best August 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Believe me ... this stuff really works !!!!
About 10 years ago (circa 1998) I performed an overnight experiment using three fuel injector cleaners. Techron was one of them and I cannot even remember the name of the other cleaners. But, here is an account of what I did:
I took three old sparkplugs with noticeable carbon deposits and placed them in individual containers and then I poured samples of the three fuel injector cleaners into the separate containers to immerse and soak the sparkplug tips overnight with the separate fuel injector cleaners.
24 hours later the Techron successfully dissolved the carbon deposits and the other two "fuel injector cleaners" did NOTHING!!!!!
So I decided to use the Techron fuel system cleaner on my Cadillac with a Throttle Body Injection (TBI) system -- which was starting to hesitate on acceleration and had developed an engine murmur.
I was so impressed with the Techron results that I became a loyal Chevron station customer (Chevron gasoline contains Techron). Since my conversion, I have never had problems with the Cadillac or any Fuel Injection System.
I even get Chevron when I rent cars -- that is how loyal I am.
A few months ago my Mother's Toyota Sienna developed a similar murmur and I told her to use Techron -- problem solved with one 20 oz bottle.
My Mother lives in Illinois (Chevron stations are few or non existent) So, she must use the concentrated bottled Techron.
Later, her truck also developed a terrible murmur. It was so bad I did a tune-up on it (sparkplugs, distributor cap, rotor, timing, air filter, etc.) Murmur did not go away. Then I poured a 20 oz bottle right before a full tank of gas. The murmur started to decrease on the drive to the house and eventually went away. Problem solved!!!!
A few weeks later, my Brother shared his miseries with his car starting to develop a murmur. Both Mother and I said "TECHRON" simultaneously!!! My Brother's problem was solved with a 20 oz bottle of TECHRON. He said the murmur went away by the time he got home after pouring the 20 oz bottle on a full tank of gas.
P.S. Texaco gasoline also has Techron in it, but not sure if available at all Texaco stations yet. Chevron started the Texaco station conversion in 2005.
Always keep some handy in the trunk. February 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I drive about a 1000 miles a week and always keep a bottle of this in my trunk. When you're driving all over the country, occasionally you must fill up your tank with a no-name brand of gasoline and if your car is fickle regarding the quality of the gasoline as mine is, then it won't be long before your engine's knock sensor is triggered and the CEL (Check Engine Light) activates. On more than one occasion, I've dumped a bottle of this into my gas tank and within 10-20 minutes, the engine returns to its expected performance and the Check Engine once again goes dark.
There is no question that this works as advertised. It is expensive, but if you live in a cooler climate, one that promotes condensation in your gas tank, or if your fuel injectors are simply dirty from a bad tank of fuel, then I cannot recommend this enough.

I am using this product for many years. the first time I was tried on my pinging Corolla. the car was ping so much, I switch from mid-grade gas to super and car still pings (The car pass smog check every time). After I tried just one bottle, All the ping went away back to use regular gas again. I highly recommand this product for anyone if your car is pinging.
Recommended cleaner December 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a high mileage Durango. Since I bought it a few months ago secondhand, I have done some work on it. I tried the Shell and STP cleaners and I did notice some improvement, but I still had some valve noise. Also, the others were just and injector cleaner. After putting this cleaner in, I noticed an improvement in power, the valve noise has been reduced by a large amount, and even better mileage. Yes, you do pay more for this than the rest, but it cleanses the whole system, not just the injectors. Recommended
Very good December 1, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I saw a marked improvement in performance and sluggishness, for my vehicle, post applying this product. If you've never used it and have high mileage, 2 applications are required. Also, it's important to first pour this and THEN the fuel. Ensure your tank's at least 18 gallon, if you're using the 20 oz. or else go for the 12 oz. bottle. I would not recommend any additives but this and Tufoil. These are really good and most importantly, don't cause any harm to the engine.
