Need to eat January 8, 2009 I did try to get accurate information , before I ordered , not only on this website , but also on the Annie Chun's website , There is wheat in the suace, so if you are looking for a wheat free , gluten free item this is not.
Open Sesame! December 11, 2008 Annie Chun's Peanut Sesame Chow Mein Noodles makes an excellent lunch or dinner. The noodles cook quickly, and the peanut sauce is perfectly savory and sweet. It's rich enough to be a meal. I add tofu and frozen veggies to make it more into a meal.
Unlike Simply Asia,Annie Chun's Chinese meals are made here in the US. The sauces are of higher quality,as well. Annie Chun's is based in the Bay Area (Novato or San Rafael) The organic Peanut Sesame Chow Mein tastes as good as her other excellent meals. One can enjoy chop suey in the comfort of one's own home!
Not the best October 18, 2008 I previously read submitted reviews, and I should have listened. Especially to the one that stated he didn't get the organic product shown in the picture. I too did not get the organic product. I have seen it in the stores, and it has a much lower sodium content per serving. I haven't been able to find it in a while so I thought I would buy it through Amazon.
The product was the old stuff with an expiration date of 6 months from now. Usually the product in the store carries and expiration date of a year, so that tells you something right away.
The noodles are okay. My family is not that particular, so it's a good side dish on ocassion. If you are an expert on peanut noodles, this dish is not for you. It's slightly gummy and thick.
Questionable food at best August 15, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am still blown away as to why I ordered this item. Knowing what I do now, I would not touch this item with a 100 foot pole. The noodles never cook right for one, and the sauce mix is not tasty in the least. I have only had it plain however; so that's why I'm giving two stars here. But, I fear that chicken and vegetables added would only find me cursing at the end result. There are better brands out there that are not as salty and displeasing as this one. Having lived in Singapore and traveled throughout south east Asia I definitely know what good pad Thai is. This is not one of them.
Tastes great but overpriced August 13, 2008 The sauce and noodles are excellent. Also the noodles are about 7 inches long, making it easy to put into boiling pots.
But, I wonder if the price is worth it,as each box consists of only small amounts of noodles and sauce.
If you want convenient, tasty Chinese organic noodles, I guess this is it though.
